Frozen Power Steering Pump 1989 Camry 4 Cyl, 4S-FE
I'm trying to change my power steering belt. I cleaned the area and loosened the 14 mm adjusting bolt to finger-loose. However, I am unable to move the power steering assembly toward the front of the car to slip off the belt. What size bar should I use, what's the pivot point, and where do I place that bar? Thanks!
I saw the two power steering hoses on the bottom and don't want to break them. Where is a safe place to apply leverage with a breaker bar to move the power steering assembly forward AND to move it back into place? Thanks
The other bolt is still tight?
As to bar size, if the bolts are loose a 1 to 1 1/2 foot will do. If the bolts are not loose then as long as you can use. Make sure your apply leverage on a solid area of the pump body so as not to damage anything. And don't by accident apply the bar force to any hoses.
