Hi All roadrunner376 here from Maryborough QLD. I,m looking for an auto box for my 2004 camry altese v6 3.0 litre version. I bought the car with just 140000kms from an elderly guy whom I,ve known for a long time and I knew the cars history. for the last 3 months the car has been great but Saturday I noticed it seemed to struggle to change gears and reved up really high and took a long time to change into second once it did it went great until on the return trip of about 120kms the car lost all drive, would rev up good but no drive at all even reverse was gone. motor was good and thankfully no damage was done to it. breakdown guy was surprised that the box died with so little kms on it. when gearbox guy had a look turns out that input shaft had broken leaving no drive into box. quoted $2000 to recon box and another $1000 to reinstall. money I don,t have but gearbox guy did say the easiest way to get out of trouble was to buy a box in running order and just replace mine so if you have a box for sale please let me know asap. may consider buying complete car at right price.
