Hello all,

I have an issue with the passenger door latch not opening from the outside.

This issue is for the passenger door. We are unable to open the door from the outside. We are able to open the door from the inside to let ourselves in but not outside. The door locks work perfectly fine, the inside door handle latch works fine and able to open the door. The outside passenger door latch pulls up but does not open the door.

I was able to remove the door panel yesterday and take a look at what is causing the issue.

The outside door latch is connected to a rod. When that rod is pulled up, it releases the door. The rod that connects to the latch is coming out. I tried putting the rod back in the hole in the latch but it's not catching on. It's very loose and if I put the rod in and use the outside latch, it comes out.






If anyone knows the part I need or has a parts breakdown, please please let me know. I want to get resolved as soon as I can.

Retaining clip probably needs to be replaced. Toyota part only from dealer.
