Have check engine code
I have a 2007 LE 4 cyl with 82k. I bought it new, it has been regularly maintained and no problems till yesterday the check engine light came on. Dealers says it is code PO328 and that is a "knocks" sensor. They said it could run $300. Does that sound reasonable? Do I even need this sensor.

The code is for the knock sensor.
As stated by the part name the sensor detects engine knock. Knock occurs when the cylinder combustion is explosive rather then progressive. The result is the explosions cause a certain type of vibration in the engine that the sensor picks up.
Knocking is not good as it can cause engine damage. Best to have the knock sensor working.
The price seems reasonable enough for a dealer The part itself may be $150.
