My camry started having an uneven idle a few weeks ago. It cycles between 300-1000 rpm while I am stopped in gear. When accelerating it has an extremely rough, jerky start about 80% of the time (the other 20% of the time it acts completely normal). Yesterday I could hear a couple of loud knocks during acceleration too. Once I get abovea certain RPM it accelerates normally.It feels like a fuel problem but since it doesn't happen every time I accelerate could it be a bad sensor?

Is the engine RPM surging or hunting? Are these knocks from the engine or exhaust system?

Check the throttle position sensor, IAC valve and MAP sensor.
