Hello I was just wondering if anyone else knew about this problem I have with my 1992 Camry LE.

When I turn my lights on, they dont go on, but if I sorta whack the stalk a bit they pop on.

However, when I put my blinker on they turn back off again.

Also, when I push in my cruise button to turn it on, the green CRUISE light comes on for a little and then when I go to set the speed it turns off.

what the heck is going on here..


Do I need something in the steering column fixed or what?

The light switch stalk control may be bad. The control grounds the return power wire from the light bulbs.

Removing the upper and lower steering column plastic covers allows access to the switch.

The cruise control control uses different controls.

You can access any trouble codes by jumping the Tc and E1 terminals (ign switch to ON) with electrical wire located inside a plastic box, engine compartment, passengers side strut tower.

If any codes are stored the cruise light will flash them out. Codes are two numerals.

Example: one flash, pause, one flash, longer pause = code 11.
