Hey All,
So I have an issue - I took the key out of smart key fob, and unfortunately lost the smart key. So I have a key to enter he car, but don't have the smart key to start the car - and it was my only one.

From what I've gathered, I can just buy a new replacement smart key, and have a locksmith come out and program the car to the new smart key.
Is that the way to go?
Seems like a more cheaper option than getting the smart key professionally replaced.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers

 

Smart keys be expensive to replace. Call locksmiths and find out if they can even program your cars smart key.

Might buy the new smart key at the same locksmith as some aftermarket keys program and others have problems.

The dealer can make a key but it may be expensive. However its worth getting a quote.

Get a spare smart key and keep it in a safe place.

 

Only auto locksmith i have seen that can program smart keys, but they are also nowadays charging much for it.
