Anyone have a problem with their drivers door popping ajar while driving?Started having a problem about 2 months ago in my son's 98 camry. While driving interstate, door just opens itself. Luckily so far it has caught in that gray area of 'ajar' at the first catch. Issue has increased to it locking & unlocking itself, sometimes rapidly. Saw wiring shortage can cause lock issue but can't find anything on the door opening itself!

 

There is no mechanism that will automatically open the door if locked. The door lock mechanism may be out of adjustment and not fully locking the door or keeping it locked allowing the door to open.

Assuming the door lock mechanism is not broken or worn out (would be rare) the door lock striker plate may need adjustment.

Can spray lithium grease into the portion of the door lock that engages the striker plate, perhaps the parts are sticking and not fully closing.

Bad wiring can cause the cycling lock issue or one of the door lock switches may have a problem.
