No reverse lights, 88 Camry wagon 2.0 auto
#13
Ok I got the new park/neutral switch installed, it now turns over and reverse lights work, as do all the dash gear indicators. The inside of the old switch looked insanely greased and fouled up.
My new problem is it turns over and only momentarily fires up once or twice, then the battery starts to drain. It started up initially after replacing the switch but immediately stalled out and died when put in gear to test out reverse. It had less than a 1/4 of a tank, and when I checked plugs cyl 1 had crankcase oil all over the top, so I retorqued the four cover bolts as well as put in new plugs (it has new distributor/wires). I put in a few gallons of fresh gas and recharged battery, but it acts like it's not getting enough spark or gas, and it was running REALLY smooth before I started messing with the reverse light problem, and would fire up first time everytime without even touching the gas pedal.
Did I mess something up getting the new park switch in? I've gone over the engine compartment and can't see anything loose, and not sure what next to do until my mechanic can come look at it.
