Oil is above the full line
I had my oil changed (I obviously will not go back to that particular mechanic again, I usually do it myself), and the dipstick now reads 3/4 inch above the full line. I already drove it 12 miles back home. Is this dangerous for the engine, should I let some oil drain out? Camry 98.
Would say its OK. Have driving this engine with higher oil levels and all was good.
The oil would need to get pretty high to reach the crank to become whipped up as the balance shafts are below the crank.
When driving check for blue smoke and after driving check the dipstick for foamed oil.

Great, thank you for the answer! I was worried about the oil reaching the crank.
