Oil Use
I have a 2016 Camry with 190k miles. I use a quart of oil every 2k miles. I, The Fool, went 10k between changes as stated in the manual. Face it: they sell Toyotas, not oil. I have watched a YouTube video (same guy with the PCV valve change) where he installs a Short Block Assembly for $4000, but on Toyota's website, the assembly alone is $4000. He also says that "good machine shops are getting very hard to find". And how! I also saw his video about the low-tension piston rings-do I have those?
Do you think 1 quart/2000 miles is excessive oil consumption?

As much as I cringe at oil consumption, Toyota will say your consumption is normal, especially at your mileage.
Do you notice the gray smoke out the tail pipe? The remedy is expensive, as you know. I guess the question is if you can "live" with it? Or, spend the $4K?
