Question about keyless on '93
Alright so I just got a 1993 Camry, now I have been having a lot of problems with the alarm. I don't have a keyless entry remote so when I manually unlock the drivers door with the key, the red security light in the center console starts to flash fast and within 15 seconds the alarm goes off, the only way to stop it is to put my key in the ignition and start the car. Now I'm pretty sure it's a factory installed alarm because in the center console it has the security light with a small switch below it that has a "Valet Mode" and the "Horn Defeat" option. My question is because of the horn defeat mode and all of that from what I've been reading this should be a keyless car, but I didn't get the remote with the car.

Seems cheap enough, I just wanted to get some of your guys opinions as to if you think this car had the keyless and if that remote would work...because I'm tired of the alarm going off on me...

My info has the RS3000 was introduced in 1996. Prior to this it was the TVSS/TDSE system.
Did not think remote start was offered until 1996ish.
The ad does state for cars 94-97, yours is a 93.
I suggest you contact whoever is selling the part for clarification.
The alarm box may be under one of the front seats. You may be able to get the model number of it to help determine if it has remote start.

Reccommendations for keyless entry/remote start system?
Along the same line, I'm sure most of the gen3 owners know what a piece of junk the locks are. My passenger side doesn't work anymore with new keys and I can't automatically unlock all doors with a double twist on the driver side like I used to.
Does anyone have any recommendations/success stories about installing a keyless entry system on a 1994 LE? Remote start would be a boon but I'm moving south at the end of the year and I don't think I would really use it that much. I've installed a full sound system on my own (2 amps, sub, new speakers all around, headunit, custom wiring) so I'm not afraid to tackle a fairly involved project. However, if it is too difficult I would just get it professionally installed to save the hassle.
