Questions re: 1993 Camry
I have a Camry and it has hard water stains on the windshield.
I was told to used a very fine steal wool with aluminum polish and it will removed this.
Have you heard this, or what is your remedy?
Second, my headlights are not clear like my side lights.
Instead of buying new lights I was looking for fixes.
I have read that such things as toothpaste, vegetable oil and one other thing will take off.
Has anyone head of these remedies?
What's yours??

Is the glass etched or does it just have chemical build up.
If build up try vinegar and water.
Suggest not using steel wool or metal polish as this can scratch glass.
The internet has numerous posts on this issue with various products.
For the lenses, if they have yellowed there are various kits out there for polishing the yellow out. Most use abrasive material starting with course and working to fine.
Might do a search at Toyotanation where the subject and solutions have come up.
Take note, some lenses will have the light transmission damaged with polishing, not all lenses are constructed the same. Though older Camry could be polished but might check. This is a common problem.

Actually this is a fix that my body shop guy suggested. Emphasizing not to do it too hard and he gave me the correct steel wool to use.

I'm not to sure I get the gist of this...transmission damage?

for the windshield with water stains just put some "C.L.R." (calcium, lime and rust remover) on a plastic scouring pad and they will be gone.
For the headlights, you can buy a small bottle of - 'Novus' plastic polish for fine scratches. It works great with a little elbow grease. Much like applying wax, put it on let it haze over and buff to a shine. You can find it at any plastics supplier or sing shop supplier.
