Default Remote Keyless help

I have a 2004 Camry, the remote keyless entry quit working around 30k miles. I didn't have time to take to dealer until after 36k then I was not willing to pay many hundreds of dollars to get them fixed. Currently I have 185k miles but thought I might take a stab at getting the remotes to work again. I have replaced the batteries in the remotes numerous times with no success. I just tried to reprogram the remotes. However when I get to the step that where the locks should cycle, they don't. My keys work the locks fine and when I push lock on the door all the doors lock, unlock etc. Any suggestions of what I might need to do to get the remotes working again?

I have the same problem with a 2005 Camry. Bought new batteries, reprogrammed, still not working. Trying not to go to a dealer for a costly solution!

I purchased a DCR Keyless Entry Door Control Receiver Module 89741-AA020 AZ from ebay but I haven't had a chance to replace it yet. this goes behind the rear seat panel. Let me know if you come up with a good solution.
