When I rebuild an engine I use the opportunity to send the fuel injectors to a professional testing and cleaning company. Last I used was Witch Hunter. Maybe one or two injectors are not giving good spray pattern. If one cylinder misses try switching injectors to see if that cyl. improves.

IAC checks out good. I talked to the cousin and I have done everything he could think of except checking the MAP sensor pins. Tomorrow.

Default Problem solved

I took the car to a local mechanic and he fixed it, he said the exhaust cam was 40 degrees out. I swear I double checked it but those little marks are hard to see. I would suggest to anyone mark the alignment dots with something bright before disassembly. The mech says it purrs like a kitten.

Use a section of rubber hose as a stethoscope and listen for No 1 and 2 cylinder injector noise. Make sure they are making a clicking noise when the engine is running.

Crank the engine over with the plugs out then check for signs of fuel in the No 1 and 2 cylinder.

Have you checked for compression in these 2 cylinders.

Are the plugs wires connected at the distributor cap in the correct order?
