Default rust spots showing up through paint

Hey all i have a problem, after washing my car this morning i noticed a few rust spots showing through the paint on my front righthand door, there on the bottom of the door. it looks like they've come thorugh sum stone chip marks and was wondering if there was anything i can do to stop this transforming into a full blown rust problem. I cant garage my car either

Any help would be appreciated

Dan

and what year is it? my aunt had a chevy that was like 5 years old, but she found out that they had problems with the paint in those years, and she got a free paint job with enough arguing.

Its a 1998 model, i polish it a fair bit but ive never waxed it as such. Ill take a couple of fotos and show u the extent of it, its not bad, its surface rust but its my baby. Its also a factory paint job.
