Stalling issue
What would cause my 97 Camry, 2.2 L, M/T to stall out when I take off? Starts fine, idles well, just loses power when torque is applied to tranny to get moving. Give it a little gas and come off the clutch is when this happens or loses power. If I push in the clutch fast enough to keep it from dying it will come back to idle. The tank is just above of an eighth full if that helps any. I'm new here and really don't know how things work on this forum, but sure could use some help on this one.

What happens when going up hills?
Maybe a fuel issue. Perhaps a failing fuel pump, low fuel pressure. The large canned fuel filter in the engine compartment seldom plugs up.
Make sure the EGR valve is not opening for some reason when its not supposed to. To much exhaust gas at the wrong time will kill the engine.

stalling issue
Goes up hills fine. Everything is fine except starting off. As I let clutch out rpms suddenly drop causing stalling. I replaced vacuum mod and cleaned and checked EGR valve, will replace VSV switching value next to complete EGR system. Was showing P0104 code. so I did above work and after that is when this problem seemed to show up. Vacuum hoses are old but seemed ok. Was alot of carbon build-up in old modulator I replaced. Could it be the VSV switching valve causing this or the ECU? Thanks for any help you could offer.

Thank you for our help. Goes up hills fine. The only time it seems to show up is when coming off the clutch. Replaced modulator valve and cleaned EGR. Have new VSV switching valve, last to install because of position.I filled the tank with gas, no help. Runs great after you start moving, no misfiring. Whatever it is only shows up when taking off. Have to give the engine alittle more gas then usual to take off, same in reverse. The tach just drops from like 1300 rpms just when the clutch starts to move the car. Could it be related to the IAC valve on the bottom of the throttle body?
