Steering locked after car was flooded 2012 camry se
Hello,
My steering wheel will not unlock with push button turned on, seems to be stuck. Looking for a diagram for steering lock module so I can maybe jump wires to unlock steering. Thanks in advance!

Actually it won't start at all for me. The green key light is blinking continuously and the manual says that means the steering is locked. I've tried turning the wheel manually, not sure what else to try. Thanks for replying.
Try wiggling the steering wheel left and right when the problem happens.
Since the engine started take you have have the correct smart key and that it's linked to the car.
The steering lock system has a computer under the steering column cover that picks up a signal from the smart key to give the OK to unlock. Speculate the water could have damaged electronics, corroded the wiring connectors or perhaps caused corrosion in mechanical steering lock portion of the column lock causing it to no longer move freely.
Have you gone through the cars electronics and wiring connection plugs to remove, clean out any water then spray every thing electrical circuit board and wiring harness connector with a contact cleaner?
The link below shows the components of the steering lock system. Try to determine if the steering lock system is receiving a signal to unlock. If receiving then determine if the mechanical lock is stuck.

Toyota has a website where for $20 one can download factory service info for 2 days. Might start here or pickup a service manual off of Ebay then dig not the steering column.

Thank you so much for your reply! I did spray everything down with contact cleaner and definitely have the right key but sounds like you're on to something with the steering lock computer. I'll dive into that and see if it's getting signal. Thanks for the link, hoping toyota has a diagram of the steering lock computer, that would be great. I appreciate your help, you saved me a lot of time and aggrevation. Thanks again
