I need to store my 2022 Camry XLE for a couple of months. I don't have option of using a tender/trickle charger, so am planning to disconnect the positive terminal of the 12V battery. I understand that I will only be able to open the car with the mechanical key.

Will I have any problem after I reconnect the positive terminal?

 

The cars computer will need to relearn the engine idle speed. The idle may be low, engine stall, etc while this process is going on.

Sometimes the FOB door lock settings reset. On rare occasion the navigation needs resetting. The radio station settings will be lost.

 

No problem with navigation (I use Android Auto with Waze) or with radio. I assume that the engine idle will sort itself out after a bit of running - correct?

What do you mean that the FOB door locking will reset. Can I fix that, or will I need Toyota?

 

The idle situation will work itself out with normal driving.

The door lock programing including when using FOB can have custom settings as in all door unlock, drivers door only, plus the chime settings.

If the door lock programming is affected the programing will revert back to factory settings. The locks and FOB will still work normally but will not longer be the custom setting.

And sometimes the sunroof needs resetting. The procedure is on the internet.for DIY.

Take note when reconnecting the battery the car alarm may go off. Place the key in the ign. If its a smart key place this inside the car. If the alarm goes off insert key into door or ign. The owners manual will have info on how to silence the alarm thus read up prior to reconnecting the battery.
