Stuck throttle peddle - 95 Camry
Only when the car is coming to a stop or you've taken your foot of the peddle for a few seconds, then the peddle takes a somewhat strong push to break through its stuck position. This happens only with the peddle ing the Idle position, peddle upmost position.
I have sprayed WD40 where the cable meets the spring linkage, but the problem must be somewhere else.
Anyone have this problem before? Ideas?
Thanks,
RobK

Could be dirt/carbon where butterfly valve meets the intake throat. Pull the intake tube off and clean just inside the intake with cleaner and toothbrush while holding open the throttle valve, then wipe clean with cloth. Ifthat does notcure then disconnect throttle cable and see if operation of throttle valve works better, if so it's probably the cable.I would then buy a new cable.
YES, Yes itwas a gummy build up on the inside / othersideof the butterfly valve.
WD40 and a cloth - all gone - and the problem too!
Hope this helps others
Pedro, you are the man!
