i dont know where to put a wire in its place.and i dont know where i can get one of those pins.

Determine if there are 2 terminals side by side labeld WA and WB, if so these are it. If you don't have a jumper use a section of copper wire bent into a "U."

Removing the terminals is done for some type of test, forget what.

i got the o/d light to flash a code and it was 42. does anyone know what that means?

Code 42 is the vehicle speed sensor on trans, combination meter (gauges) or wiring between them. Does the speedometer work OK?

If the sensor fails the computer goes into a default shifting more.

If speedo OK, the sensor is typcially ok.
