Default Timing Belt: Jumped teeth

Hey guys,

If you want to make a long story short, I jumped a tooth and I need to re-time my 2.2 engine and I'd like to know what marks to align too or anything else i need to know (i know pretty much nothing). Looking for a fail proof method, I'm trying to go out of state for christmas and this is holding me back.

I bought this car a few months ago and replaced the waterpump/timing belt/tensioner. We left the belt a little loose and it made noise up to 2,300rpms. I had my friend come help me tighten it up and we couldnt get it tight at first. so i had him stick a wrench on the pully up by the valves and pull towards the trunk thinking it might spin. It spun 1/4 inch but no more, and then he spun it the other way and loosened the belt and jumped a tooth or two (turns out that 1/4 inch was all we needed). Originally, the car ran great and just blew the water pump. So we took the original belt off and didnt spin any pulleys and put it back the same way.

Good news is, we figured out how to tighten it.

The only two pulleys that need to be aligned are the cam and crank.

The link below has info on aligning the pulleys and installing the belt.

Disregard the verbiage about marking the belt.

Make sure you rotate the crank 2 times CW and recheck the alignment.
