trans adjusters?

Default trans adjusters?

picked up a 92 trans is sluggish bad just wondering whair the adjusters are ?i just wana give it a shot b 4 i change it out

not familiar with the old camry like that. If you check the throttle cable there should be two nuts that u can adjust to either take slack away or give slack to the throttle cable. Nearby there should be antoher cable with two nuts too. If you take away slack from that other cable, it should make the transmission shift faster.
Having clean fluid helps too.

what im looking for is the gizmo that will tighten or loosten the band or belt that goes over the clutch pack . are the edjustments you are talking a bout the same ? these type of cars late 80 and newre i just dont understand the scout is so simple to work on .

what i'm reffering to is called the transmission kickdown cable. It will tell the tranmission to shift faster/harder like in a sports car or lag/soften shifts like in a limozine.

The newest cars have almost no adjustements that can be done by hand as everything is hidden and computer run.

i believe this trans is slipping like a worn clutch in a standerd .just want to see if tightining the band will help or if its burnt

if its over 150K and since its a 92...it probably is slipping.

I'd inspect the fluid. If it smells burnt, looks real dark...it probably is seeing the end of its life.
People tend to only keep up with engine oil and washer fluid in cars...the rest tend to be neglected and that has ill effects long term, especially on autos. Manuals seem to be okay with really old fluid...
