Default Turn signal lever snapped, and is now completely loose

Hey all, I was driving into work today in my '90 Camry, and hit the turn signal lever with my hand prety hard after I cranked the window down. There was an appalling *SNAP* inside the steering column, and I noticed that the turn signal lever now hung completely limp. I figured I could just put it back into place, but no deal. The wire is still connected to the circuitry and everything is theoretically still usable, except for the fact that now it just doesn't sit right inside the column.

Has anyone ever had this happen? I'd like to think I could just open up the steering column a little bit and glue it back into position. Is that possible?

Sure, why not glue it back, i would try it. Maybe cut a piece of plastic tubing in half lengthwise to strengthen the stalk, and bond it all with jb weld or epoxy or something. You could even paint the plastic for appearance.
