Lock'd it before i closed it and I did try to rotate the key.

 

i think the guys key is stuck in the cylinder and unable to turn it

 

locksmith time.

 

On my 95 Camry the trunk lock sometimes won't work with the aftermarket key that I carry on my keyring. If I get the original Toyota key it will work, then continue to work for weeks. I don't carry the original Toyota key because the rubber/plastic is broken and it won't stay on the keyring.

If you have another key, try that.

 

mmm ... spray some WD40 or any other lubricant in the hole where u insert the key... then try again the same key both ways while u press on the trunk by ur other hand or buy tapping it hard [8D]while u r trying that ... but dude u gotta use the original key ... some duplicate copies dont work as the original.

My owner's manual says there are two classes of keys..the owners key and the valet key.
If the remote release does not work and the trunk key slot is in the horizontal position, only the owner class key can open the trunk and re-enable the remote release. Horizontal position disables the remote release.
The valet key does not unlock the glovebox or trunk once it is in horizontal position. HOWEVER, it can put it in horizontal (remote disable) position!!!
the Owners key unlocks all.

 

The dealership took my VIN number and photo ID and for $5 made me
a new Owner key that opened everything!!! The VIN number gave them
the data to make a KEY!
