RE: what grade of oil for 90k miles mry?
if there are no problems 5w-30 is fine.
where do you live? if it gets to freezing temps stay with 5w weight.
if it doesnt get near freezing then u can move up to 10w30.
you should begin using high mileage oil if possible which will minimize leaks and help to better lubricate and keep seals in better condition.

RE: what grade of oil for 90k miles mry?
i live in san fernando valley
yup thats what im thinking because the car is already high mileage and i want to minimize leaks
i dont know what the previous owner used in this car.
it says in the oil cap 5w30 but im considering the high mileage....
so its better if i use 10w30 than 5w30 to minimize leaks?

10w30 is acceptable in the camry. its manual says so. it just recommends 5w30.
if you dont experience leaks or see any leaks, high mileage 5w-30 will take care of all your needs just fine.
and if your car is in real good condition then you can switch over to synthetic oil.
haha royal purple...i know someone must drive their camry like they stole it...hehe.

castrol gtx advertises supurior sludge protection and so i would go with them.
i've tried them both and have yielded better results with castrol in terms of fuel economy, idle smoothness, and oil cleanliness at the oil change intervals.

oh i've only tried two of them. white bottle of regular gtx and then the grey/silver bottle of syntecblend
i recommend you use 5 quarts of the green bottle of gtx high mileage.
5 quarts includes filter change, but depending on how well things drain out, you may not use the full 5 quarts. i usually end up with just a little left over. remember not to overfill.
