Royal Purple at a nearby Pep Boys is $4qt. Soo its pretty close to Mobil1 in price range.

 

thats cheap for synthetics...and very cheap for royal purple...

Awww too bad i love wal-mart... o wells looks like ill be going to pep boys from now on for some Purple.

 

my friend hit me up 2 days ago and my local wal-mart i guess restocked with royal purple. its about 6.75 per quart.

 

damn that's expensive! the reason why i grabbed royal purple @ pep boys was because it was cheaper than mobile1. LOL mobile1 was like 5+ and royal purple was 4.39 i think..geez. 6.75?

mobil1 extended performance 15K garauntee - costs about 6.45/quart
royal purple is 6.72/quart...

who would you go with in that case?

And royal purple at the parts department of toyota is about 9.37/quart.

-i say this because we all know we're not gonna run our cars' to 15K miles before an oil change.For me, ifeel like its a sin to take it to 4K before an oil change.

 

hehe yeah its sinfun...but i know i change just because its so freaking dirty after 3k....bleh.

so royal purple is actually purple...how can u even tell if its dirty? ogtta send in for oil analysis?

 

Just use conventional oil in the weight that manual recommends unless you have oil consumption. You can go thicker if oil consumption is an issue but that effects performance. Synthetics are a waste unless you are in extreme colds or you are doing extended oil change intervals. Go to http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ and do some reading. Some seem to really believe in synthetics but for the most part most seem to really like conventional oil. Check out the forums.
