I would probably recommend finding an extended drain solution. Like something offered by AMSOil.
But you can definately switch over to synthetic oil. If most of your miles are highway, things will tend to stay pretty clean and in shape.

I use Mobile 1 in my cars and motul in the bike. Great stuff, Mobile 1 is priced right, motule is not. Remember tho because of the additional milage capability with synthetics that you have to check your oil level still. Most cars will burn a little bit it is normal, and with the extended milage you may think it is excessive but it works out on paper.
What kills the motor oil is the contamination involved with starting a cold motor. Added fuel is needed, tolerances are just a tad loose, you get the picture?
