Default WIERD BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEM

i have an 88 camry. I noticed all the lights work except the brake lights, all 3 of them. I replaced both bulbs, checked all fuses, still no brake lights. Is there something I'm missing here? I didn't check the 3rd light bulb, but i figured replacing the other 2 would work. Do all 3 have to be working for them to work? Are they wired in series? Or can one go out and the others still work? The 2 black relays in the drivers side dash fuses, are they involved with the brakes? The tail lights work fine, but no braking lights. Just bought this car today and I'm a little concerned. Thanks for any help here.

I agree with Patrick. Double check any of the bulbs that are in that circuit. I had a simillar problem with a
used Nissan Sentra that I had bought. Whenever I'd put the breaks on, the dash light would come on. It
got to the point that fuses were blowing like no tomorrow. Therefore, knocking out all my tail lights. This
drove me crazy for monts. The problem was the person who owned the car prior, had a single filament bulb
in the two filament sock.

Good luck....
