Default 95 Camry dimmer switch problem

The bright lights on my 95 Camry have a significant delay after dimmer switch goes to bright. Should the dimmer switch be replaced, and, if so, how do I do it?

You switch to high beams and it takes while for the high beams to come on?

Does the car have daytime running lights, auto off lights, etc?

I use the switch setting that keeps the headlights on all the time when the car is service and the headlights shut off automatically when the driver's door is opened and the key is off. I assume that is daytime running lights.

The delay in the bright setting after operating the dimmer switch started with shorter intervals but has now increased to the 10-12 sec range.

The car is a Camry V6 LE.

Thanks for your help.

When you switch from low to high beam or opposite, does the high beam indicator on the dash go on or off immediately or does it have the same delay as the lights?

The bright indicator is delayed also. In other words, it doesn't light until the brights come on.

There is no delay in either the indicator or the low beam when switching from bright to low beam.

Default 95 Camry dimmer switch problem

I was able to repair the problem by replacing the combination switch several months ago.

The only problem I recall was installing the steering wheel 30-45 degrees off kilter and having to borrow the puller again to remove and correct.

I also broke small portions of the original plastic wiring harness while removing or installing pin conductors, but this was not a crucial issue.
