hi i have had my 96 camry le for 1 yr and so far all i have had to do is change the fluids, and fix the antenna and try to fix the door handles,found out there is a difference between le and non le door handles the le handles are much more expensive that and the front end is messed up from the p.o. putting it into the ditch and last fall a woman talking on the cell phone rearended me and tweeked things a bit but my wife and got almost 200 bucks and got to keep the car. now if i could find a good body with a bad engine or tranny i could swap them over.

 

Try Craigslist for parts cars having good bodies. However unless finding the same year swapping parts will become more difficult.

Camry made changes in the engine over the years. The cars trans is specific to its engine. The wiring and engine computer specific to the cars year, engine, trans and emissions type (Federal or California).
