Need help.... With my 91 camry dx 4 cyl.

Default Need help.... With my 91 camry dx 4 cyl.

It doesn't crank or spark or click.. Nothing happens when I turn the key... I've changed the starter already.. Seem to be a common problem for this car.. But every I've look, it never specifically says whats the problem.. Anybody who had this problem, please help 🙏

Do the dash light icons come on or is all electrical dead?

Hey toyo.... Everything turns on.. the check engine, battery and oil and two other thing stay on.. Battery and alt are good.. Fuses look good.. Just don't get anything when turning the key.

Also this problem had been occurring prior to the new starter install... But I would hit the starter and then disconnect/reconnect the battery and then disconnect/reconnect the alternator and remove and reconnect the fuses connected to the battery.. And then it would start.. But now nothing works.. My next step is to get a new distributor or new ignition.

Id say its probably going to be in the ingition as well.

If the engine does not turn over with ign key, the distributor is not the problem.

Find the electrical connection for the starter solenoid. Its a small terminal having a small dia wire. Once found connect 12v DC to the terminal and determine if the starter now works.

When doing this make sure the car is neutral or park and emergency brake on.

I'm sensing that the starter may be bad. Them Camry are picky when it comes to starter, make sure it's a genuine Toyota starter and not some no name unit.
