New camry owner alert!!
#4
The car is part of the Generation 3 Camry years which was one of the best. The Generation 4 ranging from 1996 to 2001 is also solid. After 2002 Toyota decided to start trading quality for price and to meet production quota's.
The engine is solid unless overheated (temp goes into the red), over revved (hot rodded) or run out of oil.
The trans is good unless the trans fluid is never changed or car hot rodded. Fluid should be pink or pinkish in color. Note the trans has a separate differential fluid chamber.
The rest of the car is straight forward. Drive's well, easy to repair, lots of low cost parts available.
The car will go through a period of needing parts replaced due to wear and tear, but once done it just keeps running.
This as opposed to later Camry after 2001 which had quality and design issues with the trans, engine, interior and other areas that should not have happened.
