I just bought a 2023 camry xse for over a week and I am just driving around the city, probably the furthest I drove is 6 miles. As per the mileage estimate, I should be getting 27 mpg in the city. But I am currently getting only 18 mpg and most of the times 17 mpg on those short distances drive. Is is this normal or there is something wrong that I need to take my car to the dealership to check with them why is this happening?

 

How long have you owned the car?
Driving habits can always have an impact, If those 6 miles are full of stop and go and takes 30 minutes, that could be a factor.
Some new cars also have a break in/learn too.

 

I already accumulated 65 miles, my mpg is always 17 and 18 driving around town. I don’t drive like crazy, normal acceleration, 3-4 stop lights.
