Default Sorry For Being That Guy But "Please Help"

Sorry ahead of time for being that guy that creates an account so that he can ask a question that Google failed me in answering. My Google-Fu usually doesnt fail, but i need my car to work.

Details: 1993, Automatic, V6, XLE, 165k miles

Symptoms: Very little initial acceleration, does move and go forward, but revs to approx. 25-2600 and holds there until it picks up speed at approx. 35+ mph. Flashing O/D OFF light.

Thoughts/Suspicions/Other Notes: Low, and Reverse work fine, i could theoretically go quicker backward in Reverse, and quicker forward in Low, but Drive feels like I'm towing a big boat. This is why i suspect not the trans. Also, during initial acceleration there is a noticeable 'Slosh' that is heard. Comparable to a half drank water bottle being shook once. I suspect it is the fuel injectors. I think the O/D off flashing is due to the trans not liking what is happening in the engine, but i could be wrong.

Please help, call me out for being that guy, tell me something i missed in punctuation fine, but please, thoughts and ideas wanted. Also, if it is fuel injectors (or really applicable to any idea that might come up), repair options?

Again, please help.

The place to start is the transmission.

If the O/D light is blinking then a trouble code is stored in the trans computer which is part of the engine computer.

Do the following.

Make sure O/D continues to be set to ON (don't turn it off).

Find a small plastic box in the engine compartment perhaps mounted to the passengers side strut tower. Inside the box are electrical terminals. Get a section of electrical wire. With ign switch ON connect the T1 and E1 terminals.

If a code is set the O/D light will flash out a two number trouble code. If more then one code the light will flash out one code at a time.

Example: 4 second pause, 4 flashes, much shorter pause, 2 flashes, 4.5 second pause = code 42. Then code will repeat.

If two codes are stored there will be a 2.5 second pause after the first code before the second code starts. Then codes will repeat.

If no codes are stored the light will just flash.

Record code numbers and post back.

Ideally reframe from driving. The high engine revs and low car speed can mean something is slipping inside the trans and this is not good for the trans.

@toyomoho i tried connecting the electrical wire. The problem was was that the O/D OFF light would only flash when driving, and not in a consistent pattern (mostly only during acceleration). So it was not 'active' and we couldnt get it to respond after connecting the terminals. Also there is a slight hissing while shifting through the column while parked. Also sorry for not getting back to you sooner, some other stuff came up and i had to postpone the car a few days. I greatly appreciate the help so far and i hope you have some more helpful insight.

What happens when you connect the two terminals? Does the O/D light start to flash at a constant rate?
