Default Steering pump

Hello group,
I was just wondering; has anyone in this forum ever had to change the power steering pump from a 2003 toyota camry? I have pretty much lost all steering in my car, and will be having the issue diagnose tomorrow. If its a power steering pump, I plan to try to change it on my own, so I am wondering how hard this might be, and if there are any tips you can give I would surely appreciate it.

If you can't access from below you may need to remove fender liner and apron to gain access through the wheel well.

Drain fluid from reservoir.

There is clip on the oil line from the reservoir to pump fitting. Remove clip to remove fitting from pump.

Prior to disconnecting the pressure line (goes to steering rack) note the orientation of the tube in touching the pump housing front.

Need 27mm open end wrench to hold the pressure port (screws into body) when removing the union bolt for the pressure line to prevent the pressure port from also rotating.

Be sure to disconnect the electrical plug from the pressure switch.

Need deep 14 mm socket to access one bolt to loosen.

Use new gaskets if possible.

You might invest in a Haynes manual (under $20).

Toyomoho is correct, that is the only way to access the pump by removing the fender liner. Don't forget to bleed the system before use.
