Window problems
I am new to the Camry community as this is my first Toyota. After seeing the excellent build quality I wish I would have come over sooner.
I bought my Camry because I needed a car in a hurry due to my 2002 Buick LeSabre letting me down with a tranny problem. Being that I use my personal vehicle for my field service work as a technician I decided to go smaller and more fuel efficient. I found a clean 2003 Camry LE at a good price so I jumped on it. The seller was very upfront about the issues with the car. One of these issues was that BOTH passenger side windows didn't work. I bought 2 window regulators figuring they were just worn out after 20 years. I was partially right . When I went to install the front passenger regulator I plugged it in once I had the door panel off. It moved to it's uppermost position without me even touching the window switch. WTF??? I thought it was a wiring problem and put off the repair for a later date. Thanks to this forum I decided to look at the Master switch. When I took it apart I found the two passenger side switches broken in such a way that they were stuck in the UP position so that explained why both regulators would only move up. I ordered a Master switch from Amazon for 28 bucks and along with the new regulators I now have ALL of my windows working.
I'm happy to be here and I hope that my little story helps others.
