Default ceramic pads?

Hi all.
Had all of the pads and rotors on my 07 Camry changed about month ago. Mechanic (good one I trust) confirmed he installed ceramic. When I brake in reverse they often squeal a bit and first thing in the morning/after sitting for the day they squeal in forward and reverse. But after a few brakes/bit of driving, the squealing reduces a lot, sometimes stops.
Is this common with ceramic pads and new rotors or think something off?
Thanks

The pads are vibrating against the rotor causing the noise.

Ask the mechanic if they reinstalled the shims and another metal items that were present to reduce noise (if possible) and applied brake grease to various metal areas as directed in the shop manual. The parts and grease dampen vibration.

Vibration and noise are common in disk brakes and why car manufacturers go to great lengths to eliminate it in their products. Introducing after market pads can cause noise. Not all after market pads including ceramic make noise but the replacement pads may not allow the factory shims to fit up plus have other issues.

You might also ask the mechanic about any suggested pad break-in procedures.
