Default Steering Wheel Wobble

Recently put on 225 45 18 Nitto NT 555 with American racing casinos (chrome) on my SEv6. When on the highway when I get to speeds of 55-60mph my steering wheel wobbles just a little bit. Is this common when you change the combination of the car? I went from 17 to 18. At times it goes away. Is there something wrong with the roundness of the tire or are the wheels causing this?? Any info would be a big help.

Your tires may need to be aligned. This may cause a somewhat drift to a certain direction while driving, not so much a vibration...
In my car whenver i drive at that speed, i too notice a slight vibration, i just think its from the uneven pavement on the road because my tires are aligned. i dont have this problem when driving around town so im not really bothered by this.

mine shakes a little but only roun 80-90 which i think is understandable over the winter a lot of ice got under my car and and into my wheels and soon as i hit 50 on the hiway it felt like i was in a vibrating chair later found out all the ice that got in thru off the balance but it wuz bak to normal so i agree wit boogz lil adjusting and you wont feel it anymore

I would agree with the alignment but it is a 2007. As far as 55-60 I actually think it is 65-70. (My bad)Asboogzsays mine are also fine during city driving so I guess i shouldnt be too concerned. Thanks for the help.

How many miles are on the tires? They could be off balanced. More than like in need of alignment. When you switch the tires and rims you change the alignment specs. The alignment was for 17' rims and tires. When you add new rims and tires you should always make sure they have been balanced and aligned. I cant imagine having a problem with any parts of the steering. Being its an 07Unless you hit a pot hole or hit a curb its more than likely just an alignment or balance issure. I cant think of anything else it could be. Make sure all the tire pressures are even.

There are just 700 miles on the tires. I have had them on for three weeks. I recently went on the highway for the first time to pick upa friend. After I picked him up I noticed my air pressure light was on. I didnt find it strange because I was told that when I change my combination this will trigger the pressure sensors unlessI transfer them from my original rims and tires to the new set of tires and rims. I figured it was the weight of the suitcases in thetrunk and the fact that my friend weighs about 260lbs.

Balance your wheels. Alignment shouldn't be a problem because its an '07. Unless you changed ur suspension too- then ya it could be alignment. But yeah- balance your wheels.
