Default strut springs

Hi, I have a 94 Camry with 175,000 miles on it. The left front strut spring is broken. The mechanic said it'd cost $500 to replace the struts on both sides. The car has other problems and I am only hoping to get another year out of it. Would anyone know if it is feasible to only have the left side done (the right spring looks worn but intact)? Can you just have a spring replaced without the strut or is that just asking for more trouble. Thanks!!

Default RE: strut springs

Yes, if strut undamged. Might look for a complete strut/spring unit from a parts car or auto yard.
