My secondary hood release bends up when I try to use it. Nothing else is wrong with the mechanism. I can make it work by bending it DOWN before I try it, then reaching in as far as possible.
1. Is there a replacement or aftermarket part that won't bend?
2. Is there a way to reinforce the lever so it won't bend?

MIne did the same thing. I just worked at it until I got it opened and lubricated the mechanism real well. I then bent the latch back to original position. No problems since, just keep it lubed.
