Remote connect issue

Default Remote connect issue

Hi, I purchased a renewal for the remote connect last week. When I go to Apps and remote connect, there is no bar code to scan or digits to put in my phone. I just get a circling arrow. I've been trying for a week. any suggestions? Thanks

May not be syncing up.

Have you called Toyota about this? 1-800-331-4331.

Save your money and cancel remote connect. Remote connect is a gimmick to get more money..requiring subscriptions that used to be free. Rebel by declining to buy subscriptions. Buy cars which dont try to extract still more money from you with subscriptions, sending a message that you dont like car subscriptions. Dont we pay enough for our car to not have to donate another 30 bucks a month to toyota so the remote start works?

Start the car when you open the door and sit in it. Lock the car with the remote or door lock, like they did when Jonah was still inside a fish. Dont be a guinea pig and "debug their software" for them. If, down the road, Toyota fixes the software/sync/updates issue, then consider it again if you like. I have decided to be "no one's guinea pig", debugging, fixing software or compatability updates. Save the trouble and "go old school" until it works reliably. Dont give it multiple, multiple failures. Once and done.

Remember you have multiple points of failure: (Expect Toyota to blame Apple, Apple to blame the browser, the browser to blame Toyota app, and Toyota app to blame others, in an endless frustrating circle of stupidity.).
1. Car software issues/updates.
2. Phone software issues/updates.
3. Toyota App software issues/updates.
4. Compatability updates/issues on each of thise. Just because Apple updates to version 26.03, does not mean they updated the compatability with Toyota (car software), your browser, your app, or your remote. These updates occur independently (car, apple, android, operating system, browser, Toyota app) and at different times, all have to be working flawlessly and have similar updates to work. Save the trouble debugging and fixing it, let Toyota Software engineers deal with it, and when they get it up and working to 99 percent of the time (unlike now) then consider a subscription.
