Getting HID's
#21
RE: Getting HID's
I have seen kits on Ebay for around $100 for HID kits and to be honest they do look like they are quality... But recently a friend of mine bought a kit for his camry... They look like total crap... The output is not even near as good as the MTEC's so beware about knock off's. Most of them are made in China or Taiwan and generally break easily and do not last longer... MTEC's or Muccullocs are good products and they back their products with great support.
I will absolutely be buying MTEC's when i get my kit this summer...

RE: Getting HID's
take it from me, I first had 8000K bulbs in my 07 Camry. the blue tint is nice and what not when you're looking at the car, but it doesn't really give u much brightness when driving. I recently put in 6000K bulbs and the visiibility is stunningly much brighter. I'm very happy with the change.

RE: Getting HID's
I am wondering about it too. How hard is it to put on? I just bought a new 08 camry and I have never altered my previous 1999 camry in anyway. I just want to get HID lights because I don't have the greatest night vision and thought the brighter lights would help me see better.
would I just buy the kit and install or do i have to buy other stuff? and would getting HID remove the manufacturer warranty?
Any help would be appreciate it. Thank you

RE: Getting HID's
Hey, in response to your question I just replaced my OEM for HID (6000K) looks great and and have gotten alot of compliments now everyone I know wants them. As far as simplicity of intallation about 30 minutes. direct plug and play, and have had no issuessinceinstallation. So to answer your question they ar relatively easy to install. Alot simpler than I had imagined.

RE: Getting HID's
I haven't taken the time to read each reply yet but I figured since this is a hot thread, and since I am going to eventually buy some I would ask. I have heard that HID's perform, or look better if they are in a projector, compaired to the stock head lamps. Is there even a difference I was wondering? I saw it on some forum somewhere so I wanted to know if they were right or completely stupid.
