Speaker Replacement '07 JBL System
I am replacing the stock rear speakers with an Alpine Component speaker 9S-S69C). Does anyone know if it's a straight forward plug and play? Wiring from the old cone and tweeter to the new cone and tweeter. The Alpine speakers come with a crossover wired between the cone and speaker which I assume is not necessary considering the JBL system has the crossover built into the amp. Any advice is appreciated.

If understanding your post, you would need to disconnect any cross over at the new speakers as the car would have wiring for both speakers (4 wires total per side of car).
Crutchfield offers wiring adapters for this Alpine setup thus assume its not a straight plug and play without the adapters.

No Success
I connected the new speaker. It sounds awful. Limited volume and hollow. The JBL system runs on a low impedance, I assume 2 ohm to the system speaker. Installing a 4 ohm simply doesn't work unless you put in a whole new system from the deck on. Reinstalled the factory speaker and returned the Alpine. Grrr.
