Default 2007 No A/C, intrument panel

I have a 2007 Camry, 4cyl, 5 speed. A few weeks back, the instrument panel began sporadically shutting down, then coming back on. I took it to the dealership. They first said it was the pins at connector #E43, and adjusted them. The problem seemed to be fixed, but I was told that if it came back it is probably the Traction Control Actuator. I drove it home and after 15 miles, the same problems happened again, but then my odometer and A/C quit working as well. I took it back the next day. They told me I needed to replace the TCA at $2000+ labor. I decided to think on it. Once I got home and looked at the paperwork, it states that my ABS ECU needs to be replaced. I don't know what needs to be fixed now and I can't really trust them that they even know what to do. I'm not in the market to "experiment" with 2 grand. I called Toyota and they said that in order to get an extended warranty issued, other people need to report the same problem. If you've had similar problems, please call 800-331-4331 so we can get Toyota to take responsibility. It you've had the same problem and fixed it, please tell me what you did so I can consider fixing it. Thank you!

The link below provides info and suggestions:

You can do more searching for more ideas plus suggest reviewing posts on this issue at the Toyotanation.com website or posting there for additional feedback.

A used computer on Ebay or an auto parts salvage yard would be much cheaper! A third party mechanic could install it or anyone with basic car repair knowledge as the computer is a bolt on and plug-in item.

Toyota used 2 manufactures for the computer thus you need to know which one. The part is in the engine compartment, passenger side. Find the part and then the part number on it.

The link below has a photo of the computer:

ABS Skid Control ECU Module Computer 04 05 06 07 08 09 Toyota Prius 89540 47100 | eBay

Unless a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) was issued there would be no extended warranty for repairs offered.

Thank you so much for the links. We're willing to try fixing it. $2000 just seemed extreme for a "possible" solution.

Make sure the replacement computer has the same part number as the one being replaced.
