Default 2014 Camry Seat Warmers

Recent purchaser of 2014 Camry SE. What little winter weather in Texas has shown definite lack of heat from seat warmers. Is this typical?

The seat will only heat up if sitting in it. The seat heating elements are known to fail.

Check S-HTR fuse for seat heater.

Get a VOM meter and check heating element resistance.

thanks. Problem is that I get a “little” warmth, but no where near enough to call it a seat warmer. Can the elements just get “weak” and not really heat?

There is one heating element for the bottom seat and one for back seat. Each individual seat element is one unit (not ganged together). The element works or doesn't.

Electrical power comes off the on/off seat switches from S-HTR fuse. Then to seats. Back seat and bottom seat elements are wired in parallel. Then to ground.

Do both seats have the same weak heat? How does the back seat heat compare to the bottom seat heat?

Can you check voltage to seat heat plug. Drivers seat, blue wire is hot, white/black ground. Passenger, pink hot, white/black ground.

Wow! Thank you for the complete and comprehensive reply!! On low, it doesn’t feel as though either seat gets any heat. On high, it seems as though the driver seat gets lukewarm, passenger seat-just barely. Beginning to wonder if they work at all-might just be placebo effect after driving 15 minutes waiting for them to work. Going to check fuse today/tomorrow. THANK YOU.

Could be mediocre seat heaters. Someone posted their seat temp max was approx 82F.
