Car died AGAIN! I just cant win w this car. Last time it was the rotor button. When that happened back in Feb, I replaced the fuel filter, timing, plugs, wires, coil, dist, cap and button. This time, my car has been down for a frigging month and I cant figure it out! Was driving just fine and DIED...again! Ive tested relays, swapped ECUs like crazy, nothing!

1992 camry Le w the 2.2 auto. only way to run is take the pump and bench it to another car battery, keep going on and off the battery to keep the car running. One day I had unplugged the Map by accident and the damn thing started! and ran fine! drove around, went to class, put around 60miles on it and then parked it for class the next morning. next morning, got nothing and its been sitting since. went out and got an old honda. Im dumb founded! Ive been on alldata like its facebook. PLEASE someone help get this car running!! I really hope its not a stupid ground as the pump run and keep the car going w another cars battery in the back seat w wires to it and not when its hooked up to its own car

 

You need to power and un-power the fuel pump?

When the engine dies or will not start check for ign spark at the coil or plugs. If there is spark it should be able to gap 1/2 inch. If OK the ign should be OK.

 

Always had spark, real pretty purple But I think I found the problem, there's a piggy tail before the connector and I went over it like 6x but that time it was dead, I pulled a hair and it read again, so when I get back from class I'll mess w it more then hit up a junk yard and wire in a new one
