Working on my Camry for a while and want to drain the old gas. Can anyone tell me if I can just place a hose in the filler hole and pump it out or will I run into a screen.

I would then have to disconnect the hose under the car , remove screen and drain from there.

The issue will be with the small diameter flapper plate where the nozzle goes into the filler tube. The small hole and the plate make it very challenging to get a hose down into the tank. There is no screen or check valve (used to stop spillage in case of a roll over). Perhaps a small diameter tube having some rigidity to allow being forced past the flapper might work.
