Default how do i drain my differential?

I have a question on my differential that i hope someone here can answer.

On a 1994, v6, with the 1mzfe/a541 autotrans combo,
1. does draining the trans drain the diff or
2. does it need to be pumped out somehow to drain it or
3. does it even matter if the diff gets drained at all since the book doesn't address draining the diff - only checking the diff fluid levels?

what i think i know:
the i4 diffs have drain plugs but my 6 doesn't.
i4 diffs are separate and require separate draining and refilling.
filling the trans fills the diff also on my car.

thanks to anyone who knows this.

Look for fill and drain plugs on the side and bottom of diff housing. If no plugs or just a blank boss for a plug the trans doesn't have a separate diff fluid chamber.

Some early V6 had a separate chamber, later models no.
