No worries, thanks for the ideas. It's like any handshake protocol, be it pairing your Bluetooth headset to your phone, pairing a remote to your TV, or pairing TPMS sensors to your car. Something has to listen (receive) before any transmission can be meaningful. With this model Camry, I'm learning it may not be possible to make it "listen" without a special tool. The VXDAS tool I have can't make it "listen" to it.

Maybe there is some other instruction. You're on the Internet, it's all there, which means that some kind of instruction manual can be found and read. I would do exactly that, just go to for example new url for the pirate bay and download the file I need. That's how I solved my problem with the dashboard on my Jetta, there was a modified dashboard installed, but I didn't have the manual for it, so I decided to just download it.
